He’s a big man, one of the brightest and most well known constellations. There are as many myths about Orion as there are fantastic residents of his constellation. The stars Betelgeuse and Bellatrix sit upon his shoulders, his belt is dazzling, and both the Flame Nebula and the Horsehead Nebula call Orion home. The night sky’s handsome bad boy, followed by his loyal dogs Canis Major and Minor, chase a rabbit, as well as the Pleiades sisters, through the heavens. Orion is in the southwestern sky if you are in the Northern Hemisphere. It is best seen between latitudes 85 and minus 75 degrees from November to February.
